The Home Depot accepts most returns within 90 days with proof of purchase; furniture, some electronics, some gas-powered tools and major appliances have shorter windows.
Returns to any Home Depot store are free, even for online orders. Purchases on a Home Depot credit card or commercial account get 365 days.
Eligible online orders can also go back by mail with a label sent by email and dropped at a UPS Access Point. Mail refunds take about 7 business days to process.

Most plants can be returned within 90 days; perennials, trees, roses and shrubs carry a 1-year guarantee and are returned for store credit.
How do I return a Home Depot order by mail?
Start the return from the Order Details page of your Home Depot account with the "Return Items" button, or contact customer support by chat, phone (1-800-430-3376) or text. Eligible orders receive a shipping label by email to print and attach, and you drop the box at your nearest UPS Access Point location.
For damaged or defective major appliances, contact Customer Solutions at 1-800-455-3869 within 48 hours of delivery.
Do you need your own carrier for a Home Depot return?
