How to Return an Item to Macy’s?

Step 1: Sign in to your Macy's Account

Log in to your Macys account and visit My Account Purchase History. When you have checked out as a guest, you can check your order by using your order number and email address.

Step 2: Choose the Item You Want to Refund

Find your order, choose the item or items you want to return, and click Return Item to initiate the process.

Step 3: Select a Refund Reason and Refund Method

Choose your refund reason and decide how you would like to get a refund. Refunds are issued back to the original means of payment.

Step 4: Choose How You Want to Return the Item

Macy permits multiple methods of returns. You will be able to submit your item in store, drop it at a UPS-store, or you can make use of label-free UPS returns, where you scan a QR-code and print the label. It is important to note that in-store bought items cannot be returned by mail.

Step 5: Pack Your Item Securely

Place the product in a strong box and make sure that the item is in its original form, with tags on it, and the packaging included. Shipping labels should not be placed on shoe boxes or any branded packaging, as it will delay refunds.

Step 6: Attach Return Label

In the case of mailing back, print and paste the UPS return label. In the case of label-free returns, it is enough to visit a UPS store with the package and present the QR code.

Step 7: Drop Off at UPS or Return In-Store

Send your package to a UPS location or drop it at any Macys store. Retain your receipt or tracking details until your refund is received. Curbside pickups are not accepted.

Note: Macy's Easy Returns is only applicable to online purchases, and most online orders at Macy's are covered when it comes to shipping. To use in-store returns, carry your invoice, packaging slip, or printed email confirmation. In case of unavailability, Macy may return your purchase through the original payment method.

  • Small Electronics: 60 days
  • Beauty Box: Cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • Gourmet Food and Wine: Not returnable
  • Gift Cards (Physical & Digital): Final sale, there are no returns or exchanges.
  • Customized or Modified Items: Final sale and non-refundable.

Macy’s Refund

After your item is returned to Macy's, a refund will be given. The refunds are usually made in 7 business days once a return has been received at the warehouse or store. Refunds from credit and debit cards take between 5 and 10 business days, whereas PayPal and international card refunds can take up to 30 days, based on the payment provider.

Gift cards are usually refunded within 24 hours, but jewelry and watches would have to undergo an inspection that may take up to 14 business days before the refund is granted. The timing of the refund can be different depending on the speed of shipping, the volume of returns, and the original means of payment.
